Photosynths for Construction

Since its release, I've been curious if Microsoft Photosynth technology could provide value for design & construction professionals.  If you're not familiar with Photosynth, it's a technology that allows you to easily take a bunch of overlapping photos and create a rough approximation of a 3D space by automatically arranging the photos by their respective location.  I've used Photosynth in the past to understand existing building conditions for projects.  It can be a valuable tool to orient yourself to the details of the site without waiting for your next site visit.  Check out this photosynth of New York's Lincoln Center.  You can scroll, pan, click and zoom around these images.  Share any ideas you might have for the application of this technology in the comments below.
